This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

स्थित्यङ्कुरकथनं नाम सर्गः ।
सप्तविंशत्युत्तरशततमः सर्गः ।
रामः ।
भगवन् सर्वधर्मज्ञ पूर्वापरविदां वर ।
अयं मनसि संसारः स्फारः कथमिव स्थितः ॥ १ ॥ यथायं मनसि स्फार आरम्भः स्फुरति स्फुटम् ।
दृष्टान्तदृष्ट्या स्फुटया तथा कथय मेऽनघ ॥ २ ॥
