The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.53.31

यावद्वेतालसंकल्पो बालस्य किल विद्यते ।
निर्वेतालधियस्तावदुदयस्तस्य कः कथम् ॥ ३१ ॥

yāvadvetālasaṃkalpo bālasya kila vidyate |
nirvetāladhiyastāvadudayastasya kaḥ katham || 31 ||

And so is that as long as a boy is prepossessed with his notion of a ghost, it is in vain to convince him of the falsehood of goblins as mere chimeras of his imagination.
