The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
लब्ध्वापि तरलाकारे कार्यभारतरंगिणि ।
संसारसागरे जन्म बाल्यं दुःखाय केवलम् ॥ १ ॥

labdhvāpi taralākāre kāryabhārataraṃgiṇi |
saṃsārasāgare janma bālyaṃ duḥkhāya kevalam || 1 ||

One receiving his birth in the unstable ocean of the world, which is disturbed by the billows of the bustle of business, has to pass his boyhood in sufferings only.
