The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.7.11

तवास्ति तनयः श्रीमान्दृप्तशार्दूलविक्रमः ।
महेन्द्रसदृशो वीर्ये रामो रक्षोविदारणः ॥ ११ ॥

tavāsti tanayaḥ śrīmāndṛptaśārdūlavikramaḥ |
mahendrasadṛśo vīrye rāmo rakṣovidāraṇaḥ || 11 ||

Thou hast a son, the beauteous Rama, powerful as the fierce tiger, and strong as the great Indra himself. He it is who is able to destroy the Rakshasas.
