The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.7.12

तं पुत्रं राजशार्दूल रामं सत्यपराक्रमम् ।
काकपक्षधरं शूरं ज्येष्ठं मे दातुमर्हसि ॥ १२ ॥

taṃ putraṃ rājaśārdūla rāmaṃ satyaparākramam |
kākapakṣadharaṃ śūraṃ jyeṣṭhaṃ me dātumarhasi || 12 ||

Now mayst thou deliver to me that Rama thy eldest son, having his youthful locks of hair like the sable plumage of a crow, but possessing the true valour of a hero.
