This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

कालेनाकुलचेष्टितान्यध इतो गच्छन्त्यथोर्ध्वं पुनर्देहालेखनखेदितान्यगणितान्यन्यानि चान्ये न च ।
भूताम्बूनि वहन्ति संसृतिमये यान्यम्बुधौ चञ्चले चक्रावृत्तिमयानि सङ्कलयितुं शक्नोति कस्तान्यलम् ॥ ६२ ॥
