The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

रागितैषास्तु मा वास्य किमरागितयान्यया ।
यद्यथा नाम संपन्नं तत्तथास्त्वितरेण किम् ॥ ५० ॥

rāgitaiṣāstu mā vāsya kimarāgitayānyayā |
yadyathā nāma saṃpannaṃ tattathāstvitareṇa kim || 50 ||

What avails one's passionateness or dispassionateness in this world; since what is fated in this life, cannot be averted by any means.
