The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.77.46

मुसलोपमया पूर्वं ततः स्तम्भनिभाङ्गया ।
ततस्तालद्रुमाकारधारयासारसारया ॥ ४६ ॥

musalopamayā pūrvaṃ tataḥ stambhanibhāṅgayā |
tatastāladrumākāradhārayāsārasārayā || 46 ||

The rain fell at first in the form of fountains and cascades, and then it assumed the shape of falling columns or water spouts; at last it took the figure of a palm tree, and then it poured down its showers in torrents.
