The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.6.18

देहयन्त्रं पयःसत्तामात्रादूर्मिमिव स्थितम् ।
आधारस्पन्दनेनाङ्ग यथा क्षोभो न वा भवः ॥ १८ ॥

dehayantraṃ payaḥsattāmātrādūrmimiva sthitam |
ādhāraspandanenāṅga yathā kṣobho na vā bhavaḥ || 18 ||

This bodily frame is the product of the Divine soul, as the wave is produced of the water of the sea; and though the bodies are seen to move about as waves, yet their receptacle the soul is ever as steady as the sea;—the reservoir of the moving waves.
