The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.71.32

यथा शीतोष्णयोरैक्यं कथास्वपि न दृश्यते ।
जडप्रकाशयोः श्लेषो न तथात्मशरीरयोः ॥ ३२ ॥

yathā śītoṣṇayoraikyaṃ kathāsvapi na dṛśyate |
jaḍaprakāśayoḥ śleṣo na tathātmaśarīrayoḥ || 32 ||

As we never hear of the union of cold and hot even in story, nor of the junction of light and darkness in any place;such is the want of union between the soul and body, which are never joined together.
