The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.70.27

पापात्मिका मनोवृत्तिः सो हि तस्यास्तथा स्थिता ।
परप्राणवशादेव परमार्थपरायणा ॥ २७ ॥

pāpātmikā manovṛttiḥ so hi tasyāstathā sthitā |
paraprāṇavaśādeva paramārthaparāyaṇā || 27 ||

It was ever bent to do evil, like an evil spirit, as she was now known by that name; and her sole object was to kill the lives of others at her pleasure.
