The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीदेव्युवाच ।
मनुष्यवासनान्तस्थं मार्गमाश्रित्य गच्छति ।
एषोऽहमपरं लोकं दूरं यामीति चिन्मयः ॥ ७१ ॥

śrīdevyuvāca |
manuṣyavāsanāntasthaṃ mārgamāśritya gacchati |
eṣo'hamaparaṃ lokaṃ dūraṃ yāmīti cinmayaḥ || 71 ||

The goddess said:—Man goes to all places by the way of his desires, and thinks also he goes to the distant future, in the spiritual form of pure intellect.
