The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.8.33

महावीर्यवतां वीर्यमादत्ते युधि राक्षसः ।
तेन सार्धं न शक्ताः स्म संयुगे तस्य बालकैः ॥ ३३ ॥

mahāvīryavatāṃ vīryamādatte yudhi rākṣasaḥ |
tena sārdhaṃ na śaktāḥ sma saṃyuge tasya bālakaiḥ || 33 ||

That Rakshasa holds the prowess of the most powerful, we cannot afford to fight with him, nor even with his children.
