This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

तस्मादसम्यग्ज्ञानवशाद्ब्रह्मणः सर्वपदार्थानामागमः । अवतीर्णानां च तेषामवतरणसमकालमेवाविद्योदेति । तयाज्ञानं दृधतामेति । तदतश्शतसहस्रस्कन्धो विचित्रशुभाशुभवलितो भुवनभूरिशाखः स्फारतामेति संसारद्रुमः ॥ ३६ ॥
