This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 17.23

मानुष्यकं पि किल ईदृशकं रूपं सुजातम् इदम् आश्चर्यं ।
किंचित् कालं स्थिहिय अन्तरतो नायं समा मरुवधूहि भवे ॥ २३ ॥

mānuṣyakaṃ pi kila īdṛśakaṃ rūpaṃ sujātam idam āścaryaṃ |
kiṃcit kālaṃ sthihiya antarato nāyaṃ samā maruvadhūhi bhave || 23 ||

When they had stood awhile contemplating such a comely and wondrous, albeit human, form, they said to themselves, “There can be none like her even among the consorts of devas. (23)
