The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मूर्तो यथा स्वसदृशैः करोत्यवयवैः क्रियाः ।
आत्मभूतैस्तथा भूतैश्चिदाकाशमकर्तृ सत् ॥ २३ ॥

mūrto yathā svasadṛśaiḥ karotyavayavaiḥ kriyāḥ |
ātmabhūtaistathā bhūtaiścidākāśamakartṛ sat || 23 ||

As an embodied being discharges his bodily functions, by means of his material members and limbs, so doth spirit and spiritual beings conduct their spiritual functions like the air, without actually doing them?
