The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.27.17

स्थाल्युदञ्चनकुम्भादि यथा मृन्मात्रकं तथा ।
चित्तमात्रं जगदिदं क्षीणं तच्च विचारणात् ॥ १७ ॥

sthālyudañcanakumbhādi yathā mṛnmātrakaṃ tathā |
cittamātraṃ jagadidaṃ kṣīṇaṃ tacca vicāraṇāt || 17 ||

As a plate, water-pot and any other earthenware, is no more than the earth (of which it is made); so the outer world is no other than the inner thought of the mind, and it wears away under the power of reasoning.
