The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.22.4

अपुनर्जन्मने यः स्याद्बोधः स ज्ञानशब्दभाक् ।
वसनाशनदा शेषा व्यवस्था शिल्पजीविका ॥ ४ ॥

apunarjanmane yaḥ syādbodhaḥ sa jñānaśabdabhāk |
vasanāśanadā śeṣā vyavasthā śilpajīvikā || 4 ||

The sense of one's liberation from the doom of birth and death, is the true meaning of the word knowledge; or else the art of procuring simple food and raiment, is the practice of artificers only.
