The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यैस्तु संपूज्यते कर्म तन्मूलं तैर्न मुच्यते ।
मूलं स्वकर्मणः संविन्मनसो वासनात्मनः ॥ ४३ ॥
yaistu saṃpūjyate karma tanmūlaṃ tairna mucyate |
mūlaṃ svakarmaṇaḥ saṃvinmanaso vāsanātmanaḥ || 43 ||
Those who regard action as their duty, are never released from their subjection to the root (principle) of action; and this root is the consciousness of the concupiscent mind of its own actions.
