The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.50.37

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अत्यन्तजडयोरेव जीवयोरिव तन्मिथः ।
प्रतिबिम्बं दृशो भ्रान्ति विद्धि वेद्यविदां वर ॥ ३७ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
atyantajaḍayoreva jīvayoriva tanmithaḥ |
pratibimbaṃ dṛśo bhrānti viddhi vedyavidāṃ vara || 37 ||

Vasishtha replied:—know, O best of gnostics that know the knowable, that the gross images of the universal and particular souls, which are reflected in the mirror of the mind, are as false as the images of God and deities which are carved in stones and wood.
