The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.7.18

जिह्वा जर्जरतामेति प्राकृतानुनयज्वरैः ।
पद्मकोटरकोणस्थमपि सूत्रं हिमैरिव ॥ १८ ॥

jihvā jarjaratāmeti prākṛtānunayajvaraiḥ |
padmakoṭarakoṇasthamapi sūtraṃ himairiva || 18 ||

The flippant tongue within the mouth, becomes faint with cringing flattery; as the pistil rising from the seed vessel, becomes languid under the freezing frost.
