The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अथैवंप्रायया तत्र विश्रम्भकथया चिरम् ।
प्राक्तनस्नेहगर्भिण्या स्थित्वोवाचायुधाभिधः ॥ २ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
athaivaṃprāyayā tatra viśrambhakathayā ciram |
prāktanasnehagarbhiṇyā sthitvovācāyudhābhidhaḥ || 2 ||

Parigha said:—Whatever acts of goodness are done by men of well governed minds, in this earth of strife, they all redound to their happiness; but the evil deeds of ungoverned minds are not so, but lead to their misery.
