The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.11.8

यथा सौवर्णकटके दृश्यमानमिदं स्फुटम् ।
कटकत्वं तु नैवास्ति जगत्त्वं न तथा परे ॥ ८ ॥

yathā sauvarṇakaṭake dṛśyamānamidaṃ sphuṭam |
kaṭakatvaṃ tu naivāsti jagattvaṃ na tathā pare || 8 ||

The appearance of the world, is compared with that of a bracelet, because the one is as false as the other, and neither of them is real.
