The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अवदातोऽवदातस्य विचारस्य महाशयः ।
जडसङ्गोज्झितो योग्यः शरदिन्दोर्यथा नभः ॥ २ ॥

avadāto'vadātasya vicārasya mahāśayaḥ |
jaḍasaṅgojjhito yogyaḥ śaradindoryathā nabhaḥ || 2 ||

The clear and high-minded man, who has renounced the company of stupid folks, is capable of fair reasoning, as the clear sky has the capacity of receiving the moon-light.
