The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
प्राक्तनं वासनाजालं नियोजयति मां यथा ।
मुने तथैव तिष्ठामि कृपणः किं करोम्यहम् ॥ २३ ॥

śrīrāma uvāca |
prāktanaṃ vāsanājālaṃ niyojayati māṃ yathā |
mune tathaiva tiṣṭhāmi kṛpaṇaḥ kiṃ karomyaham || 23 ||

Rama said:—Being caught in the net of my pre-existent desire, I remain a captive to them and do as they lead me to. Say then, O sage what else I can do.
