The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अगस्तिरुवाच ।
इत्युक्त्वा तात विप्रोऽसौ कारुण्यो मौनमागतः ।
तथाविधं सुतं दृष्ट्वा पुनः प्राह गुरुः सुतम् ॥ १७ ॥

agastiruvāca |
ityuktvā tāta vipro'sau kāruṇyo maunamāgataḥ |
tathāvidhaṃ sutaṃ dṛṣṭvā punaḥ prāha guruḥ sutam || 17 ||

Agasti said:—Hear me my son, that Karunya after saying so held his silence; when his father seeing him thus, rejoined his speech.
