The Sanskrit text of the Brihat-samhita from the 6th-century authored by Varaha Mihira in present-day Ujjain, India. It primarily deals with astrology and astronomy but is presented as an encyclopedia of knowledge.

प्रत्यन्तान् कुनृपांश्च हन्त्युडुपतिः शृङ्गे कुजेनाहते शस्त्रक्षुद्भयकृद् यमेन शशिजेनावृष्टिदुर्भिक्षकृत् ।
श्रेष्ठान् हन्ति नृपान्महेन्द्रगुरुणा शुक्रेण चाल्पान्नृपाच्छुक्ले याप्यमिदं फलं ग्रहकृतं कृष्णे यथोक्तागमम् ॥ २१ ॥
