The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 2.51

स्वायम्भुवं चार्चिकमर्चयित्वा जजाप पुत्रस्थितये स्थितश्रीः ।
चकार कर्माणि च दुष्कराणि प्रजाः सिसृक्षुः क इवादिकाले ॥ ५१ ॥

svāyambhuvaṃ cārcikamarcayitvā jajāpa putrasthitaye sthitaśrīḥ |
cakāra karmāṇi ca duṣkarāṇi prajāḥ sisṛkṣuḥ ka ivādikāle || 51 ||

Having offered worship, he whose own glory was secure muttered repetitions of Vedic texts to Svayambhu for the safety of his son, and performed various ceremonies hard to be accomplished, like the god Ka in the first aeon wishing to create living beings.
