The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 1.87

नरपतिरपि पुत्रजन्मतुष्टो विषयमतानि विमुच्य बन्धनानि ।
कुलसदृशमचीकरद्यथावत्प्रियतनयं तनयस्य जातकर्म ॥ ८७ ॥

narapatirapi putrajanmatuṣṭo viṣayamatāni vimucya bandhanāni |
kulasadṛśamacīkaradyathāvatpriyatanayaṃ tanayasya jātakarma || 87 ||

The monarch also, being well-pleased at the birth of a son, having thrown off all those bonds called worldly objects, caused his son to go through the usual birth-ceremonies in a manner worthy of the family.
