This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 70.4

यस्येमे चतुरो धर्मा वानरेन्द्र यथा तव ।
वीर्यं बुद्धिं स्मृतिः प्रज्ञा सो दुःखम् अपवर्तति ॥ ४ ॥

yasyeme caturo dharmā vānarendra yathā tava |
vīryaṃ buddhiṃ smṛtiḥ prajñā so duḥkham apavartati || 4 ||

“He who has these four qualities, energy, intelligence, mindfulness and wisdom, as you, lord of the monkeys, have, can avert ill.” (4)
