This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 17.79

पश्यासि ताव गगने मणिरत्नचूडा देवा दिवि गुरुकृतस्य वसानुवर्ती ।
प्रह्वा कृतांजलपुटा प्रणिपत्य मूर्ध्ना त्वं बन्धु त्वं च शरणं ति नमस्यमाना ॥ ७९ ॥

paśyāsi tāva gagane maṇiratnacūḍā devā divi gurukṛtasya vasānuvartī |
prahvā kṛtāṃjalapuṭā praṇipatya mūrdhnā tvaṃ bandhu tvaṃ ca śaraṇaṃ ti namasyamānā || 79 ||

“See the devas of heaven, with diadems of gems and jewels, how, obedient to the Worshipful One, they bow low with their hands joined before them, and, bending their heads, adore him with the words, “Thou art our kinsman, thou art our refuge.” (79)
