by Émile Senart | 1882 | 56,574 words

This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 7.15

तस्य चैष प्रणिधिः समृध्यति काश्यपस्य धुतधर्मधारिणः ।
तौ क्रमौ दशबलस्य श्रीमतः वन्दितुं हि शिरसा महामुने ॥ १५ ॥

tasya caiṣa praṇidhiḥ samṛdhyati kāśyapasya dhutadharmadhāriṇaḥ |
tau kramau daśabalasya śrīmataḥ vandituṃ hi śirasā mahāmune || 15 ||

Thus did the pious Kashyapa realise his desire to salute with his head the two feet of the glorious and mighty Dashahala, the great sage. (15)
