[461.025]. tāni tasmin kārāṃ kṛtvā praṇidhānaṃ kārtumārabdhāh--yadasmābhirevaṃ sadbhūtadakṣiṇīye'pakāraḥ kṛtaḥ, asya karmaṇo vipākamanubhavema/
[461.026]. yattu kārāḥ kṛtāḥ, anena vayaṃ kuśalamūlenaivaṃvidhānāṃ dharmāṇāṃ lābhinyo, bhavema, prativiśiṣṭataraṃ cātaḥ śāstāramāragayema iti//
[461.028]. kiṃ manyase mahārāja tadā sāsau rājño brahmadattasyāgramahiṣī, eṣaiva śyāmāvatī tena kālena tena samayena/
[461.029]. yāni pañca strīśatāni, etānyeva tāni pañca strīśatāni tāni tena kālena tena samayena/
[461.030]. preṣyadārikā, eṣaivāsau kubjottarā tena kālena tena samayena/
[461.031]. yadābhiḥ pratyekabuddhasya kuṭikāṃ dagdhvā anumoditam, tasya karmaṇo vipākena bahūni varṣāṇi narakeṣu patkā yāvadetarhyapi dṛṣṭasatyā agninā dagdhāḥ/
[461.032]. kubjottarā anukrameṇa [462] niṣpalāyitā/

[462.001]. yatpraṇidhānaṃ kṛtaṃ mamāntike satyadarśanaṃ kṛtam/
[462.001]. iti hi mahārāja ekāntakṛṣṇānāṃ karmāṇāṃ pūrvavadyāvadevamābhogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ/
[462.002]. ityevaṃ te mahārāja śikṣitavyam/
[462.003]. atrodayano vatsarājo bhagavato bhāṣitamabhinindyānumodya bhagavataḥ pādau śirasā vanditvā bhagavato'ntikātprakrāntaḥ/
[462.005]. bhikṣavaḥ saṃśayajātāḥ sarvasaṃśayacchettāraṃ buddhaṃ bhagavantaṃ papracchuh--kiṃ bhadanta kubjottarayā karma kṛtam yena kubjā saṃvṛttā? bhagavānāha--kubjottarayaiva bhikṣavaḥ karmāṇi kṛtānyupacitāni pūrvavadyāvad phalanti khalu dehinām/
[462.008]. bhūtapūrvaṃ bhikṣavo vārāṇasyāṃ nagaryāṃ brahmadatto nāma rājā rājyaṃ kārayati pūrvavadyāvaddharmeṇa rājyaṃ kārayati/
[462.009]. naimittikairdvādaśavārṣikā anāvṛṣṭirādiṣṭā/
[462.009]. rājñā vārāṇasyāmevaṃ ghaṇṭāvaghoṣaṇaṃ kāritam--yasya dvādaśavārṣikaṃ bhaktamasti, tena sthātavyam/
[462.010]. yasya nāsti tenānyatra gantavyamiti yataḥ kolenāgantavyamiti/
[462.011]. tena khalu samayena vārāṇasyāṃ saṃdhāno nāma gṛhapatiḥ prativasati āḍhyo mahādhano mahābhoga iti vistaraḥ pūrvavadyāvad vaiśravaṇadhanapratispardhī/
[462.013]. tena koṣṭhāgārika āhūyoktah--bhoḥ puruṣa, bhaviṣyati mama saparivārasya dvādaśa varṣāṇi bhaktamiti? sa kathayati--ārya, bhaviṣyatīti/
[462.014]. asati buddhānāmutpāde pratyekabuddhā loka utpadyante pūrvavadyāvadbhoḥ puruṣa, vinyasya pravrajitasahasrasya mama dvādaśa varṣāṇi bhaktamiti/
[462.016]. sa kathayati--ārya, bhabiṣyatīti/
[462.016]. tena teṣāṃ pratijñātam/
[462.016]. dānaśālā māpitāḥ/
[462.017]. pūrvavattatra dine dine pratyekabuddhasahasraṃ bhuṅkte/
[462.017]. tatraikaḥ pratyekabuddho glānaḥ/
[462.018]. so'nyatamasmin dine nāgacchati/
[462.018]. sandhānasya duhitā kathayati--tāta, eko'dya pravrajito nāgata iti/
[462.019]. sa kathayati--putri, kīdṛśa iti/
[462.019]. pṛṣṭhaṃ vināmayitvā kathayati--tāta, īdṛśa iti/
[462.020]. yadanayā pratyekabuddho vināḍitaḥ, tasya karmaṇo vipākena kubjā saṃvṛttā/
[462.021]. punarapi bhikṣavo buddhaṃ bhagavantaṃ papracchuh--kiṃ bhadanta, kubjottarayā karma kṛtam yena śrutadharāa jāteti? bhagavānāha--tena kālena tena samayena pratyekabuddhānām yaḥ saṃghasthaviraḥ sa vāyvādhikaḥ/
[462.023]. tasya muñjānasya pātraṃ kampate/
[462.023]. tasya saṃdhānaduhitrā hastāt kaṭānavatārya sa pratyekabuddha uktah--ārya, taistatpātraṃ sthāpayeti/
[462.024]. tena tatra sthāpitam/
[462.024]. niṣkampamavasthitam/
[462.025]. tayā pādayor nipatya praṇidhānaṃ kṛtam/
[462.025]. yathaiva tatpātraṃ niṣkampamavasthitam, evameva mamāpi saṃtāne ye dharmāḥ praviśeyuḥ, te niṣkrampaṃ tiṣṭhantvati/
[462.026]. yattayā praṇidhānaṃ kṛtaṃ tasya karmaṇo vipākena śrutadharā saṃvṛtā//
[462.028]. punarapi bhikṣavo bhagavantaṃ papracchuh--kiṃ bhadanta kubjottarayā karma kṛtam yena dāsīsaṃvṛtteti? bhagavānāha--anayā bhikṣavastatraiśvaryamadamattayā parijano dāsīvādena samudācaritaḥ/
[462.030]. tasya karmavipākena dāsī saṃvṛttā//
[462.031]. punarapi bhikṣavo bhagavantaṃ papracchuh--kiṃ bhadanta anupamayā karma yadeṣā nirāhārā bhūmigṛhe sthāpitā amlānagātrī cotthitā/
[462.032]. bhagavānāha--anupamayaiva bhikṣavaḥ karmāṇi kṛtānyupacitāni pūrvavadyāvatphalanti khalu dehinām//

[463.001]. [463] bhūtapūrvaṃ bhikṣavo'nyatamasmin karvaṭake dve dārike anyonyasaṃstutike kṣatriyadārikā brāhmaṇadārikā ca/
[463.002]. asti buddhānāmutpāde pratyekabuddhā loke utpadyante hīnadīnānukampakāḥ prāntaśayanāsanabhaktā ekadakṣiṇīyā lokasya/
[463.003]. yāvadanyatamaḥ pratyekabuddho'nyatamasmiñchānte pradeśe rātriṃ vāsamupagataḥ/
[463.004]. aparasmin divase pūrvāhṇe nivāsya piṇḍārthī pracalitaḥ/
[463.004]. taṃ dṛṣṭvā te dārike prasādite, asmai praṇītānnapūrṇaṃ pātraṃ prayacchataḥ/
[463.005]. tatkarmaṇo vipālenānupamā jātā, ekā ghoṣilasya gṛhapaterduhitā jātā mahāsundarī śrīmatī nāma/
[463.006]. ekasmin samaye rājñā dṛṣṭā pṛṣṭā ca--kasyeyaṃ kanyā? māntribhiḥ kathiyam--ghoṣilasya gṛhapateḥ/
[463.007]. tato ghoṣilo gṛhapatiḥ samāhūyoktah--gṛhapate, tava duhiteyaṃ kanyā? sa prāha--mama deva/
[463.008]. kasmānmama na dīyate? dīyatāṃ mahyam/
[463.009]. sa prāha--deva, dattā bhavatu/
[463.009]. ghoṣilena gṛhapatinā dattā/
[463.009]. udayanena vatsarājenāntaḥpuraṃ praveśya mahatā śrīsamudayena pariṇītā/
[463.010]. apareṇa samayena rājā uktah--deva, bhikṣudarśanamabhikāṅkṣāmīti/
[463.011]. sa kathayati--ākāṅkṣase kiṃ tu bhikṣavo rājakulaṃ praviśānti/
[463.012]. deva, ahaṃ nāma dārakaṃ praveśitā/
[463.012]. sarvathā yadi bhikṣudarśanaṃ na labhe, adyāgreṇa na bhokṣye na pāsya iti/

[463.013]. rājñā ghoṣilo gṛhapatiruktah--gṛhapate, na tvaṃ duhitaraṃ pratyavekṣase? deva, kim? anāhāratāṃ pratipannā/

[463.015]. tadātmano gṛhe bhaktaṃ sādhitvā kāyām(?) bhikṣusaṃghamupanimantrya bhojaya, antareṇa ca dvāraṃ chedayeti/

[463.016]. ghoṣilena gṛhapatinā dvāraṃ chinnam/
[463.017]. tato bhūri karma kārayitvā yena bhagavāṃstenopasaṃkrāntaḥ/

[463.018]. ekāntaniṣaṇṇaṃ ghoṣilaṃ gṛhapatiṃ bhagavān dharmyayā kathayā saṃdarśayati samādāpayati samuttejayati saṃpraharṣayati/
[463.019]. anekaparyāyeṇa dharmyayā kathayā saṃdarśya samādāpya samuttejya saṃpraharṣya tuṣṇīm/
[463.020]. atha ghoṣilo gṛhapatirutthāyāsanādyena bhagavāṃstenāñjaliṃ praṇamya bhagavantamidamavocat--adhivāsayatu me bhagavāñchvo'ntargṛhe bhaktena mama nimantritaṃ sārdhaṃ bhikṣusaṃghena/
[463.022]. pūrvavadyāvadbhagavato dūtena kālamārocayati--samayo bhadanta, sajjaṃ bhaktam yasyedānīṃ bhagavān kālāṃ manyata iti/

[463.025]. caturṇāmāyuṣmanta ājñā akopyā tathāgatasyārhataḥ samyaksambuddhasya, arahato bhikṣoḥ kṣīṇāśravasya upadhivārakasya, rājñaśca kṣatriyasya mūrdhnābhiṣiktasya/
[463.026]. smṛtimupasthāpayati--praviśāmeti/
[463.027]. sa praviśya purastād bhikṣusaṃghasya prajñapta evāsane niṣaṇṇaḥ/
[463.027]. atha śrīmatī devī sukhopaniṣaṇṇaṃ śāriputrapramukhaṃ bhikṣusaṃghaṃ viditvā pūrvavadyāvannīcataramāsanaṃ gṛhītvā purastānniṣaṇṇā dharmaśravaṇāya/
[463.029]. athāyuṣmāñchāriputraḥ śrīmatīṃ devīṃ dharmyayā kathayā saṃdarśayati samādāpayati samuttejayati saṃpraharṣayati/
[463.030]. satyāni na paśyati/
[463.030]. āyuṣmāñchāriputraḥ saṃlakṣayati--kimāsyāḥ santi kānicitkuśalamūlāni? na santīti paśyati/
[463.031]. santi kasyāntike pratibaddhāni? paśyatyātmanaḥ/
[463.032]. tasya dharmaṃ deśayato vicārayataśca sūryāstaṃgamanasamayo [464] jātaḥ/

[464.001]. bhikṣava utthāyāsanātprakrāntāḥ/
[464.001]. āyuṣmāñchāriputraḥ saṃlakṣayati--kiṃ cāpi bhagavatā nānujñātam, sthānametadvidyate yadetadeva pratyakṣaṃ kṛtvā anujñāsyatīti/
[464.002]. sa vineyāpekṣayā tatraivāvasthitaḥ/
[464.003]. tena tasyā āśayānuśayaṃ dhātuṃ ca prakṛtiṃ ca jñātvā tādṛśī dharmadeśanā kṛtā, yāṃ śrutvā śrīmatyā viṃśatiśikharasamudgataṃ satkāyadṛṣṭiśailaṃ pūrvavadyāvatsarvaṃ vādyaṃ triśaraṇagamabhiprasannam/
[464.005]. athāyuṣmāñchāriputraḥ śrīmatīṃ satyeṣu pratiṣṭhāpya prakrānto yena bhagavāṃstenopasaṃkrāntaḥ/
[464.006]. upasaṃkramya bhagavataḥ pādau śirasā vanditvaikānte niṣaṇṇaḥ/
[464.006]. ekānte niṣaṇṇa āyuṣmāñchāriputra etatprakaraṇaṃ bhikṣavo bhagavate vistaraṇārocayati/
[464.007]. bhagavānāha--sādhu sādhu śāriputra, saptānāmājñā akopyā--tathāgatasyārhataḥ samyaksambuddhasya, arhato bhikṣoḥ kṣīṇāśravasya, rājñaḥ kṣatriyasya mūrdhnābhiṣiktasya, saṃghasthavirasya, upadhivārikasya, ācāryasya, upādhyāyasya/
[464.010]. atha bhagavāñchikṣākāmatayā varṇaṃ bhāṣitvā pūrvavadyāvat pūrvikā prajñaptaḥ/
[464.011]. iyaṃ cābhyanujñātā--evaṃ ca me śrāvakairvinayaśikṣāpadamupadeṣṭavyam/
[464.011]. yaḥ punarbhikṣuranirgatāyāṃ rajanyāmanudgate'ruṇe anirhṛteṣu ratneṣu ratnasaṃmateṣu rājñaḥ kṣatriyasya mūrdhnābhiṣiktasya indrakīlaṃ idrakīlasāmantaṃ samatikrāmedanyatra tadrūpātpratyayāt pāpāntiketi/
[464.013]. yaḥ punarbhikṣurityudāyī iti, so punaranyo'pyevaṃjātīyah anirgatāyāṃ rajanyāmityaprabhātāyām, anudgata ityanudite aruṇe iti, aruṇo nīlāruṇaḥ pītāruṇas tāmrāruṇaḥ/
[464.016]. tatra nīlāruṇo nīlābhāsaḥ, pītāruṇaḥ pītābhāsaḥ, tāmrāruṇas tāmrābhāsaḥ/
[464.016]. iha tu tāmrāruṇo'bhipretaḥ/
[464.017]. ratneṣu veti ratnānyucyante maṇayo muktā vaiḍūryaṃ pūrvavadyāvaddakṣiṇāvartaḥ/
[464.018]. ratnasaṃmateṣu veti ratnasaṃmatamucyate sarvaṃ saṃgrāmāvacaraśastraṃ sarvaṃ ca gandharvāvacaraṃ bhāṇḍam/
[464.019]. rājñaḥ kṣatriyasya mūrdhābhiṣiktasyeti rājye stryapi rājyābhiṣikeṇābhiṣiktā bhavati, rājā kṣatriyo mūrdhnābhiṣiktaḥ/
[464.020]. kṣatriyo'pi brāhmaṇo'pi vaiśyo'pi śūdro'pi rājyābhiṣekeṇābhiṣikto bhavati rājā kṣatriyo mūrdhnābhiṣiktaḥ/
[464.021]. indrakīlaṃ veti traya indrakīlaḥ/
[464.021]. nagare indrakīlo rājakule indrakīlo'ntaḥpura indrakīlaśca/
[464.022]. indrakīlasāmantaṃ veti tatsamīpam/
[464.023]. samatikramedapi vigacchet/
[464.023]. anyatra tadrūpātpratyayāditi tadrūpaṃ pratyayaṃ sthāpayitvā/
[464.024]. pāpāntiketi dahati pacati yātayati pūrvavat/
[464.024]. tatrāpattiḥ kathaṃ bhavati? bhikṣuraprabhāte prabhātasaṃjñī nagarendrakīlaṃ samatikrāmati, āpadyate duṣkṛtām/
[464.025]. aprabhāte vaimatikaḥ, āpadyate duṣkṛtam/
[464.026]. prabhāte aprabhātasaṃjñī, athāpadyate duṣkṛtam/

[464.027]. bhikṣuraprabhāte aprabhātasaṃjñī antaḥpurendrakīlam asmatikrāmati āpadyate pāpāntikam/

[464.028]. anāpattih--rājā śabdayati--devyaḥ kumārā āmātyā aṣṭānāmantarāyāṇāmantyatamānyatamamupathitaṃ bhavati rājā cauramanuṣyāmanuṣyavyālāgnyudakānām/
[464.030]. anāpattirādikarmikasyeti pūrvavat//
