The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वरेण मधुरेणैवमार्यामार्यविलासिनी ।
पपाठाकठिनं वामा मत्पार्श्वे मृदुहासिनी ॥ ८ ॥

papāṭhākaṭhinaṃ vāmā matpārśve mṛduhāsinī || 8 ||

She recited with her sweet voice, the verses in the Arya metre by my side; and smiled as she recited them in a high tone of her voice, saying:—
