The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तस्मादन्यन्न तत्रास्ति यदस्ति च स एव तत् ।
यच्चान्यत्तत्तदाभासं न च पश्यति दुर्मतिः ॥ १८ ॥

tasmādanyanna tatrāsti yadasti ca sa eva tat |
yaccānyattattadābhāsaṃ na ca paśyati durmatiḥ || 18 ||

There was no other person beside himself, and whatever else there was in that place, it was but his self or an exact likeness of itself. He saw naught but himself, and aught that he saw he thought to be but his self.
