The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.81.38

एवमाधेर्भवेद्व्याधिस्तस्याभावाच्च नश्यति ।
यथा मन्त्रैर्विनश्यन्ति व्याधयस्तत्क्रमं शृणु ॥ ३८ ॥

evamādherbhavedvyādhistasyābhāvācca naśyati |
yathā mantrairvinaśyanti vyādhayastatkramaṃ śṛṇu || 38 ||

Thus it is that the perturbed states of the mind and spirit, produce the diseases of the body, and are avoided and removed by want of mental anxiety. Now hear me tell you, how the mantra-exorcism serve to drive away the diseases of the body.
