The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.25.48

छायायां गलिताङ्गायां तत्रैवाशु यथातपः ।
प्राणे त्वस्तंगते बाह्यादपानः प्रोदितः क्षणात् ॥ ४८ ॥

chāyāyāṃ galitāṅgāyāṃ tatraivāśu yathātapaḥ |
prāṇe tvastaṃgate bāhyādapānaḥ proditaḥ kṣaṇāt || 48 ||

As the prana expiration expires in the open air, the inhaling breath rises and rushes in a moment; just as the light having fled from the horizon, is succeeded immediately by deep darkness.
