The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.89.47

मृष्टे लौल्यमुपादत्ते दुर्भोज्ये याति निःस्पृहम् ।
वैरस्यं याति कटुनि स्वयमित्यनुभूयते ॥ ४७ ॥

mṛṣṭe laulyamupādatte durbhojye yāti niḥspṛham |
vairasyaṃ yāti kaṭuni svayamityanubhūyate || 47 ||

Again the mind is sweetened (pleased) on relishing the sweets, and embittered by tasting the bitter. It becomes fond of the sweet, and averse to whatever is sour and bitter and unpalatable.
