The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अयि मूर्ख मनः कोऽर्थस्तव संसारवृत्तिभिः ।
धीमन्तो न निषेवन्ते पर्यन्ते दुःखदां क्रियाम् ॥ ८ ॥

ayi mūrkha manaḥ ko'rthastava saṃsāravṛttibhiḥ |
dhīmanto na niṣevante paryante duḥkhadāṃ kriyām || 8 ||

O my senseless mind! said he, why is it, that thou art occupied in thy worldly acts to no purpose; when the sensible never engage themselves, to what proves to be their bane afterwards.
