The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथाप्राप्तानुभवनात्सर्वत्रानभिवाञ्छनात् ।
त्यागादानपरित्यागाद्विज्वरो भव राघव ॥ ५१ ॥

yathāprāptānubhavanātsarvatrānabhivāñchanāt |
tyāgādānaparityāgādvijvaro bhava rāghava || 51 ||

By enjoyment of what you get (as your lot), and by asking of naught of any body anywhere; by your charity rather than your want or asking of it, you must be free from the fever of life.
