यावत्पश्यामि गगनं न तमोभिर्न तेजसा ।
व्याप्तमत्यन्तविततं शून्यमन्तविवर्जितम् ॥ ८ ॥

yāvatpaśyāmi gaganaṃ na tamobhirna tejasā |
vyāptamatyantavitataṃ śūnyamantavivarjitam || 8 ||

As far as I viewed, it was empty space and covered by darkness, and there was no light of heaven. It was unlimitedly extensive, all void and without any boundary.
