The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चिच्चमत्कारमात्रात्मन्यस्मिंश्चित्प्रतिभात्मनि ।
जगत्यनिलवृक्षाभे चिच्चेत्यकलने कुतः ॥ ५१ ॥

ciccamatkāramātrātmanyasmiṃścitpratibhātmani |
jagatyanilavṛkṣābhe ciccetyakalane kutaḥ || 51 ||

The intellect is the wonderful property of the Divine Spirit, in which it is present as its object (chetya); but how can a man have a view of it, whose mind fixed to the sight of the world, which is a shadow of the Intellect, and moves as a tree which is shaken by the wind?
