The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तदासीद्राजसदनं मदमन्मथमन्थरम् ।
आनन्दमत्तजनतं वाद्यगेयरवाकुलम् ॥ ३ ॥

tadāsīdrājasadanaṃ madamanmathamantharam |
ānandamattajanataṃ vādyageyaravākulam || 3 ||

The palace was filled with loud acclamations of joy as those of giddy revelry: and the citizens were full of mirth and merry, song and music.
