The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मृतबन्धुजनाक्रन्दैर्मृततूर्यरवैरपि ।
हयेभरथशब्दैश्च पिण्डग्राह्यघनध्वनि ॥ १४ ॥

mṛtabandhujanākrandairmṛtatūryaravairapi |
hayebharathaśabdaiśca piṇḍagrāhyaghanadhvani || 14 ||

The loud lamentations of the friends of the dead, and the bitter cries of the dying, mixed with the clamour raised by the driving cars, elephants and horses, thickened in the air as a solid body of sound.
