The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.24.63

पातालगार्कजनितभूच्छायाकाकचोपनैः ।
क्वचित्क्वचिन्मण्डलेषु ग्रस्तचन्द्रार्कमण्डलम् ॥ ६३ ॥

pātālagārkajanitabhūcchāyākākacopanaiḥ |
kvacitkvacinmaṇḍaleṣu grastacandrārkamaṇḍalam || 63 ||

They saw somewhere the eclipse of the moon, by the dark shadow of the earth, as the sun went down the horizon; and so they saw the eclipse of the sun by the shadow of the moon falling on his disk.
