The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

महाप्रलयपर्यन्तेष्वाद्यकालपितामहाः ।
मुच्यन्ते सर्व एवातः प्राक्तनं कर्म तेषु किम् ॥ ८ ॥

mahāpralayaparyanteṣvādyakālapitāmahāḥ |
mucyante sarva evātaḥ prāktanaṃ karma teṣu kim || 8 ||

The primeval patriarchs, who obtain their ultimate liberation at the final dissolution of the world, have no antecedent cause to be reborn as unliberated mortals.
