The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

न चोत्पन्ने न च ध्वंसि यत्किलादौ न विद्यते ।
उत्पत्तिः कीदृशी तस्य नाशशब्दस्य का कथा ॥ ५ ॥

na cotpanne na ca dhvaṃsi yatkilādau na vidyate |
utpattiḥ kīdṛśī tasya nāśaśabdasya kā kathā || 5 ||

That which has no existence at all, could have neither its production before, nor can it have its dissolution afterwards. What shall I then tell you regarding its genesis or exit.
