The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.18.39

यथा संकल्पनगरे पुंसो हर्षविषादिता ।
न बाधते तथैवास्मिन्परिज्ञाते जगद्भ्रमे ॥ ३९ ॥

yathā saṃkalpanagare puṃso harṣaviṣāditā |
na bādhate tathaivāsminparijñāte jagadbhrame || 39 ||

As an imaginary palace gives no joy or grief to any body, so it is in the case of the erroneous conception of the world.
