The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अथाहं दीनता यातः स्थितोऽसंबुद्धया धिया ।
दुःखशोकाभिसंतप्तो जातो जन इवाधनः ॥ ३१ ॥

athāhaṃ dīnatā yātaḥ sthito'saṃbuddhayā dhiyā |
duḥkhaśokābhisaṃtapto jāto jana ivādhanaḥ || 31 ||

I then became as helpless as one out of his wits, and came to be afflicted with distress and sorrow like an indigent person.
