The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जनस्यैतस्य दुःखं तद्दृष्ट्वा सकललोककृत् ।
जगाम करुणामीशः पुत्रदुःखात्पिता यथा ॥ १७ ॥

janasyaitasya duḥkhaṃ taddṛṣṭvā sakalalokakṛt |
jagāma karuṇāmīśaḥ putraduḥkhātpitā yathā || 17 ||

The lord and creator of worlds, seeing the misery of these people, felt compassion for them, as a father does for his children.
